It's with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved Ma, Oma, Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Wilma (Mientje) Peeters (Van Trijp), at the Medicine Hat Hospital with her family by her side on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the age of 85. Mom was born on September 6, 1939 in Roosendaal, Holland. Mom was the youngest child of seven and grew up on the family farm in Het Schijf. Mom was a midwife until she married the love of her life Jac Peeters on January 8, 1966. Mom and Dad immigrated with their three children to Duchess, Alberta, Canada in May 1989, where their love of dairy farming continued with the help of brother Paul and his wife Jean and great new neighbors and friends to make it feel like home. In 2012 Mom and Dad moved to Brooks for their retirement. Mom loved her family, kids, grandkids, scrapbooking, playing cards with her longtime friends. She loved to play Rummicub. She loved her Love Birds and Canary, gardening and her beautiful yard where she spent time enjoying coffee with Dad. Mom was an active member of the CWL where she made great life-long friends. She loved baking her apple turnovers and piggy in a blanket for the church and the senior home bingos. Mom was predeceased by her parents, a stillborn daughter Erika, husband Jac of 55 years, two sisters and three brothers. Wilma is survived by her loving children, Bert (Glenda), Jack (Willie) and Annemarie (Brian), five grandchildren, Lisa, Bart, Danny, Victor and Jesse, great-grand daughter Bristol, sister Rie, sisters-in-law To and Jo. Prayer Services will be held on Friday, June 20th at 7:00 PM from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 AM from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Raul Ranola Celebrant. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery. In memory of Wilma donations may be made directly to St. Mary's Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Box 578, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B5.
