It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Susan Mary-Jean Shpak. Sue left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sue Shpak passed away in Brooks, Alberta. on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at the age of 74. Sue was born May 28th,1951 in Belle River, Ontario. to her parents, Wilfred and Jean Berlasty and married William Henry Shpak on December 9th, 1970, in Windsor, Ontario. where they began to start their family. In 1978, Sue, her husband and three children decided to make the move to Alberta where they purchased a home together in Duchess, Alberta and resided in Duchess ever since.
Born with a generous spirit and a warm heart, Sue lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to her family friends, and her church community where she began each day with a sense of humour and a desire to help those around her. Sue's passions were reading and learning the Bible, as well as teaching Sunday School she was very dedicated to her faith, she enjoyed ceramics and painting in her younger years and took up knitting and various other crafts later in life, her unwavering compassion touched all who knew her.
Sue will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she enriched. Her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her husband, William Henry Shpak, passed away on June 23, 2016. Sue is survived by her children Bill (Janinne) Shpak, Celine Durepos and Jaime (Karl) Entz her 6 grandchildren Marie-Denise (Keegan) Patton, Michael (Ten) Harvie, Alexander (Victoria) Harvie, Caelan Shpak, Tekayah (Drew) Schneider and Ryan (Alandra) Entz as well as her 8 great grandchildren Axton and Raegan Patton, Jared and William Harvie, Luke, Jett, William and Eden Entz and Bo Levi Schneider.
A private celebration of Sue's life will be held at The Church of God so family and friends can gather and share memories as well as honour her enduring spirit. Memorial tributes may be made directly to The Church of God 190004 Range Rd.142 Brooks, AB. T1R 1B5
