Sharron Elaine
Kuiper
Sep 4, 1948 — Jun 13, 2020
Brooks
Sharron Kuiper, beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister, passed away on Saturday June 13 th , 2020 in Brooks, AB. at the age of 71 years. Sharron was born on September, 4 th , 1948 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Effie and Edward Van Horn, and was the 4th of 8 children. Sharron was always so full of life. She loved to dance, entering dance competitions, and community dances at the local centers when she was a teenager, to competing in synchronized swimming in her later years. Mom loved the outdoors, and could always been seen tending to her gardens, getting the family ready to go camping, or decorating the house for the holidays. Sharron received her College Degree after going to night school, raising her family, and working full time. Sharron and her husband Phil adopted their 3 grandchildren when they were in their later adult years. She was told she was crazy to take in three children under the age of 5, and mom said that there was no other way. Family is Family, and she would do it all over again, no questions asked. Mom also loved reading. Dragons of Pern and Harry Potter were some of her favourites. Mom was the reason we all got into reading. Sharron always put her family first, and you could always see the love in her eyes. Sharron's kindness, and love emanated through everything that she did, and she always put her children first. Whether it was helping her children with their homework, or making sure she called on our birthdays, or running us around, Mom was always there for us. It didn't matter what time it was, if you called, she was there. Mom always had the answer to any question you asked (even the most random of questions she always had the answer to). Mom loved to be surrounded by her family, and whenever you walked in her eyes would light up and she would give you a smile that would outshine the sun. Mom will be missed dearly. Sharron is survived by her husband, Phil; 3 children, Klint, Klay and Misty-Dawn; her 8 grandchildren, Dylan, Téa, Dreyson, Kyrsten, Kolton, Khlöe, Aries and Raemi, and 2 great-grandchildren, Raelan and Boston; siblings: Richard, Robert, Sheila, Myrna, Ted, Kerry and Merridee and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Sharron is predeceased by her parents Effie and Edward. As per her wishes, there will not be a funeral, however a Celebration of Life will be taking place at a later date.
