Sharon Marie Jensen (née Peters)

September 18, 1950 – September 12, 2025

It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Sharon Marie Jensen (née Peters) announces her passing on September 12, 2025, just six days before her 75th birthday. Sharon passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, following complications from heart surgery earlier this year.

Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on September 18, 1950, to Melvin and Helen Peters, Sharon was raised with a deep sense of family and generosity.

On August 9, 1975, she married the love of her life, Hans Jensen, in Hanna, Alberta. Together, they made Brooks their lifelong home, raising three daughters and creating a family life defined by love, friendship, and service to their community.

Sharon dedicated her career to healthcare, first at Brooks Hospital and later at Medicine Hat Diagnostic Labs. For over four decades, she was known for her gentle skill as a laboratory technician, remembered fondly for her ability to put patients at ease and for the compassion she brought to her work.

Beyond her profession, Sharon gave selflessly to her community. She was an active member of the Brooks Royal Purple and the Brooks Legion and took special joy in organizing Seniors Crib, where her warmth and quiet leadership touched many lives.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband, Hans; her daughters Janice, Annelise (Miles), and Erika (Travis); and her beloved grandchildren Seth and Anya. She is also remembered with love by her extended family and many friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Foothills Hospital, Brooks Hospital, and Medicine Hat Hospital for their compassionate care throughout her final months. A special thank you also to Pastor John for his care and compassion towards Mom in her last months.

As per Sharon's wishes, a private family service will be held at the Brooks Cemetery. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, 402-2631 28th Ave., Regina, SK S4S 6X3.
