Robert Andrew Henderson of Rosemary, beloved husband of Linda Henderson, passed away in the Brooks Health Centre on the Thursday morning of November 30 th , 2017 at the age of 77 years.  Robert was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta on March 16 th , 1940 and as a youth lived in Strathmore, Calgary, and eventually settled in Rosemary.  Bob was a gifted left-handed athlete in the sports of basketball, baseball and football and a remarkable artist who enjoyed sharing his many talents and sense of humor with those around him.  Robert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many capacities, including the completion of a two year mission to Australia in 1963. Upon his return, he married his sweetheart, Linda Eastman, in the Cardston Alberta Temple on January 16 th , 1964. Bob obtained his secondary education at Ricks' College and the Brigham Young University, graduating with honours Cum Laude in Bachelor of Arts and Education. While completing his education, Bob worked very hard and became proficient in several occupations including hotel management, dairyman, night watchman, janitor, and labourer.  Upon completion of his degree, Bob returned to Alberta with his wife and two children, to embark on a long career of teaching. His first teaching job was obtained at Tilley, where he taught for several years before taking a position at the Brooks Composite High School.  Prior to his retirement in the year 2000, Robert enthusiastically supported many students in their interest in arts, shop and sports which also included many years of coaching and refereeing volleyball, basketball, baseball and wrestling.  Bob loved being a teacher and took great pleasure in the success of all his students.  Most of all Bob loved being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and took great pleasure in family get-togethers and supporting all of his loved ones in their endeavors.  He especially loved to coach, referee, attend and boast about all the various sports and successes of his posterity.  Robert was predeceased by his parents, Archibald Stuart Henderson and Beatrice Walkden, two sisters, Beverly Thompson and Shirley Manolescue, in-laws Duke O'Donnell, Andy Roselle, Russell Allen, Allen Thompson, Doreen Henderson and Regina Henderson and Grandson, Dallan Ketch.  He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Linda Henderson; children, Shauna (Brent) Deschamps, Tracy (Tamara) Henderson, Jason (Melanie) Henderson, LeAnn (Jeff) Ketch and Debbie Henderson; grandchildren, Justin Deschamps, Ashlee Klassen, Devonie Deschamps, Lee Deschamps, Nicolas Henderson, Jonathan Henderson, Tiana Henderson, Liam Henderson, Alexa Henderson, Taylor Ketch and Trey Henderson; Great Grand-children, Finley Klassen, Alexis and Freya Henderson; siblings, Peggy Roselle, Betty Allen, Frank Henderson, Archie Henderson, Ken (Sandy) Henderson, and Dorothy O'Donnell as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7 th at 1:00 PM from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rosemary.  Bishop Jon Nielson officiating.  Interment to follow at Rosemary Cemetery.  In memory of Bob, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Brooks and District Health Foundation for Kidney Dialysis Machine, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3.
