Robert Thomas Affleck of Brooks passed away in Brooks on Tuesday, March 23 ^rd , 2021 at the age of 79 years.  Robert (Bob) was born in Cereal, Alberta in 1941 as the youngest of 5 children to George and Evelyn Affleck.  He grew up on the family farm and attended New Brigden School.  After graduation he went to Calgary to attend SAIT and became a mechanic.  Bob later joined Canada Post and served there for 25 years.  In 1980, Bob moved to Brooks to work in the oil and gas service industry.  From 2004 to 2012, Bob was employed with Smith Trucking and was known to many as "Top Soil Bob". Bob was known to be a dedicated employee and a hard worker, retiring at the age of 71 years.  Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years.  He loved to be outdoors with friends and family camping and hiking.  He loved working with his hands, even building a truck-camper that the family spent many enjoyable outings in.  Bob was predeceased by his parents George and Evelyn, brother Don, sisters Margaret and Edith, as well as a niece and a nephew.  Bob is survived by his son Warren (Yvonne) Affleck, daughter Brenda Affleck (Brian Ellis), brother Albert, and nieces and nephews.  Bob requested no funeral service and for people to remember him in better times.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children and family.  In memory of Bob, please consider making a donation directly to, Brooks and District Health Foundation, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3.
