Nora Gamazan Carillo, beloved wife of the late Manuel Medeiros, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, at the age of 56 years. Nora was born on July 25th, 1969 in Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Carlos and Herminia Carillo. She studied Midwifery in Urdaneta City in the Philippines. Nora immigrated to Canada in 1990, eventually settling in Brooks area. She married Manuel Medeiros on July 6th, 2013, in Brooks. Nora had a passion for helping seniors in her community and she was able to work directly with them. Her assistance allowed many of her clients to live in their homes for longer, instead of being forced to move into care facilities. Nora loved Jesus, her family and music. She was an enthusiastic member of The Way Christian Mission Fellowship and The Way Christian Mission Lady's Group. Nora will be fondly remembered for her overwhelming kindness, big heart, beautiful smile, her willingness to help others when they were in need and her home-made Philippine food, especially her spring rolls. Nora was predeceased by her husband Manuel Medeiros and parents Carlos and Herminia Carillo. She is survived by her daughter Jenny Anne Medeiros; siblings, Johnny Carillo and Amelia Carillo of the Philippines and Helen C. Hutchins of Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10th at 1:30 PM from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Eligio Canette celebrant.
