Ned MacArthur Wilkerson of Brooks, beloved husband of Rita Wilkerson, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, September 8

, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Ned was born in Roosevelt, Utah on September 3

, 1941 to Van and Winnie Wilkerson. He grew up in Neola, Utah where he finished his Grade 12 and then went to Mechanic School. Ned lived in California for a short time and then moved Canada as a landed immigrant in 1967. He lived in Kelowna, British Columbia then moved to Pincher Creek in 1977. Ned also lived in Rexford, Montana, Sandpoint, Idaho, Vulcan, Alberta and Brooks. He married Beverley Wingett on February 2

, 1963 and they resided in Roosevelt. After moving to Canada in 1967, Ned met Rita Fraser and they were married on December 25
th
, 1979 in Reno, Nevada. Ned worked for the forestry industry in Utah and Wyoming. He ran service stations in Duchesne and Kelowna and ran the Frontier Bar in Rexford, Montana. Ned worked as a supervisor and mechanic for the Pincher Creek and Vulcan School Divisions. He loved camping, hunting and fishing in the mountain streams. Ned was a jack-of-all-trades who could fix almost anything and even taught "powder puff mechanics" for women. He loved animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. Ned will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and for always making sure company was fed well when they visited, with water bread, sourdough and baking powder biscuits his specialties. He loved auctions, garage sales and wheeling and dealing. Ned was predeceased by his 1

wife, Beverley, parents Van and Winnie Wilkerson, siblings, Van, Dwayne, Kenneth, Floyd, Jerry, Roy, Kennard, Bob and Eunace and sisters-in-law Fern and Helen. He is survived by his loving wife Rita Wilkerson, daughter Brenda Wilkerson, stepdaughter Brenda Haines and her husband Andy, stepson Doug Fraser and his wife Betty, grandchildren; Ashleigh, Rylee, Paige and Jared; sisters Fern and Carrie, sisters-in-law Mary and Evelyn, Yvonne and Jeanette and numerous nieces, nephews and in laws. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14

at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Pastors Wayne and Norma Calvert officiating. Luncheon to follow at Heritage Inn and Convention Centre.
