It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Maxine Saranchuk (nee Black) on January 4, 2026 at Sunrise Gardens in Brooks at the age of 81. Maxine is survived by Yaris, her husband of 63 years, and son Sheldon. She is also survived by sister Donna (Doug) Hansen, brother Byron (Verna) Black, brother-in-law Walter and sister-in-law Hazel. She is predeceased by her son Konny, daughter Joel, and sister Marjorie. Born on December 30, 1944, and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, where she met and married her husband, Yaris in 1962. They moved to Brooks the next year and raised three children. Throughout the years, they shared with their family and friends the love of all sports, especially curling, bowling and golf. Maxine overcame many challenges, however, her struggle with dementia was too much. Maxine will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was fiercely dedicated to her family and her loss leaves behind a hole in our hearts and a void in our lives. Special thanks to Dr. Thomson as well as the staff at Sunrise Gardens for the care they provided for Maxine and the support they offered for the family. At Maxine's request, there will be no memorial service. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Avenue West, Suite 1600, Toronto, Ontario   M4R 1K8.
