Marjorie Anne Miller, formerly of Gem, AB, passed away in Brooks, Wednesday August 5th, 2026 at the age of 95 years. Marjorie was born March 30th, 1931, at her home "Brookville", a large house 7 miles from Cork City, Ireland. In 1943 her family moved to Dublin, where she completed high school. On May 25th, 1956, Marjorie immigrated to Canada by ship, on the "Empress of Scotland", and landed in Toronto on June 12th. There she met James "Jim" Miller, and on October 7th, 1967, they were married at Little Trinity Anglican Church in Toronto. In 1969 a daughter, Pamela, was born and then in 1972 a son, Craig. In July of 1976 they decided to make a big change and moved the family to Gem. Jim and Marjorie fell in love with the little hamlet of Gem and the wide-open spaces and lived there happily until the summer of 2014. Marjorie loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, and to everyone she met showed them her love, kindness, and gentleness. She loved all animals, especially horses and birds, spending time in her garden, but most of all, her family. She lost her husband Jim of 49 years on June 5th, 2017, and was also predeceased by her brother Robert Topp. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Pamela (Tim) Norton of Rosemary, AB and son Craig Miller of Brooks, AB. As well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Thursday August 13th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooks, AB.
