It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Linda Irene Maurer in Bassano, AB. on September 23, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Linda was born in Calgary on July 28, 1947 and grew up in Springbank on a parcel of McPherson family homestead. Following grade school, Linda trained to be a nursing assistant and began her long-standing career as a caregiver. It was through her work at Calgary's Rockyview Hospital that she met Edward Maurer. The two married October 30, 1971 in Calgary. Linda made the move to Bassano where she became active in her adopted community. Later years saw Linda focus her recreational interests on trapshooting and a variety of creative pursuits including knitting, crocheting and baking. A major stroke in 2006 forced Linda into retirement after nearly 25 years of fulfillment in caring for others in the community.
