Keith Horsburgh left us on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, in Calgary, after bravely battling cancer for 16 months. Keith was born December 18. 1952 in Fort MacLeod – the 2nd child and 1st son of George and Moya Horsburgh. He spent the majority of his “growing up” years in Nanton, where he did the usual boyhood things: hockey, dances, a bit of mischief, but mostly making memories with good friends, some of whom he has kept in contact with over the years because that’s what Keith was most of all – a good friend. He held several jobs over the years, but his dream was to own a truck and haul cattle. That dream came true and in the early 70’s Keith came to Brooks and began hauling cattle for Ralore. He loved those years of working for Ralph & Lorena, just doing what he did best – working hard at helping others, even if that was just getting their cattle to town safely. Eventually Keith had the opportunity to start his own company and Grace Cattle Carriers was born. Keith was eager to once again provide the best service possible to the many cattle producers and customers he worked for and, as usual, made good friends doing it. He also took pride in having associated with so many capable drivers who had the same work ethic as he did. Together they hauled thousands of head of cattle throughout Canada and the U.S. Keith could never stay still for long and so following his retirement from trucking, he became the Supervisor with the Brooks Feeder Association. This job was a perfect fit as he was able to once again use his people skills and knowledge of the industry to help local producers. Keith also knew how to enjoy his time outside of work. He loved curling, golf, and, of course, the open road on his Harley. He was adventurous, quick to laugh and just enjoyed helping people whenever he could, even while suffering through cancer. He will be missed by so many who’s lives he touched, but none more than his wife, Tamie of 24 years and his 2 daughters, who were his pride and joy: Andrea Korney & Ilia (Mark) Stockert. Keith will also be greatly missed by his grandson Xavier (Amber) Korney; 2 brothers, Chris (Joan) Horsburgh and Gene (Irene) Horsburgh; his 2 sisters, Anne (Richard) Livingston and Helyne (Merv) Shusheski; brothers-in-law, Allen (Sandy) Eastman and Verl Eastman; sisters-in-law, Linda Henderson and Valerie (Mark) Watson as well as his many nieces and nephews who adored him. Be at peace, Keith, for knowing you, there will not be much resting. Carry on. A family graveside service was held in Rosemary.  Interment at Rosemary Cemetery. Bishop Michael Harding officiating. The family sincerely thank the first responders, EMT’s, staff at Brooks Hospital and the wonderful team from STARS. In memory of Keith, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either STARS, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7 or HALO Air Ambulance, #12 – 1 Airport Drive SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 5G4 on behalf of Keith would be very fitting.
