Joyce Bertille Timko of Tilley, Alberta, beloved wife of Martin Timko, passed away in Brooks on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, at the age of 81 years. Joyce was born in Brooks on May 18th, 1944, to Alex and Irene Hellmer and attended school in Tilley. Joyce married Martin Timko on November 5th, 1960 and they resided on the farm near Tilley. She was employed at Bow Slope Shipping for over 29 years and was known as a very dedicated employee. Joyce will be fondly remembered for her passion for animals and farm life, her love for her family and her fantastic cooking. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Irene Hellmer, son-in-law Wesley Ingram, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Martin; children, Della Ingram and Marlin (Linda) Timko; sister, Rita Lapointe; sister-in-law, Mary Chomistek as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Brooks Health Centre Long Term Care for the kind and compassionate care Joyce received.
