It is with great sadness the passing of John William Scott affectionally known as "Jock" on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 at the age of 88 years, at the Brooks Health Center. Jock was born to William Bill Scott and Bertha (Russel) Scott on February 18th, 1937 and grew up in the Tilley area, attending school at Bethany and Tilley. Jock met Dolores (Allen) Scott and married in June 1961 residing in the Antelope Creek area working as a helper then a ditch-rider for the Eastern Irrigation District. Jock and Dolores welcomed a daughter Cindy Lynn in June of 1962 and later a son John Alan in August 1967. Jock's career path led him to work for Brooks Field Services then Ed's field construction as a back-hoe operator. In 1975 Jock began working in the Alderson – Tilley areas for Alberta Eastern Oil and Gas later Ocelot Industries and then acquired by Imperial Esso Resources. In 1986 Jock ventured out on his own and started his own contractor company Jon-Dol Contracting working with Pan-Canadian then Cenovus Resources operating in the Tilley, Rolling Hills, Bantry and Patricia areas. Jock was very industrious and enjoyed working, when asked when he would retire, he stated at 70 years old. Upon retirement Jock enjoyed travel, golfing, puzzles and his Calgary Flames and Toronto Bluejays. Jock enjoyed his family time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Jock is survived by his wife of 64 years Dolores, his daughter Cindy Lynn Stenger(Willie) and son John Alan Scott. 5 Grandchildren J.R. Stenger (Amy), Tiffany Nakatani (Jeff), Abigail Scott (Logan), Dominic and Jackson Scott. 8 Great grandchildren Kennedy, Keegan, Griffin, and Hudson Stenger; Trinity, Mila, Aleeya, and Ryker Nakatani. The Scott family would like to note a special thank you for the service and professionalism of the great nursing staff that cared for Jock and his busyness keeping them on their toes. The Scott family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Hall located at Nikko Sushi 235-3rd St W Brooks Alberta beginning at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made directly to either the Brooks and District Health Foundation, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3 or BAPS, Box 86, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B2.
