Remembering

Helen Lepp

September 18, 1936 - July 13, 2025

Our dear mother, Helen, passed on to Glory peacefully on Sunday, July 13th, 2025. Helen was born in Bassano, Alberta to parents Heinrich and Elizabeth Retzlaff. After she graduated from high school she went on to attend Menno Bible Institute in Didsbury, Alberta. On August 12th,1956 Helen married Alvin Lepp of Rosemary where they lived and began raising their family prior to moving to the farm northwest of town in the spring of 1966.Helen's continuous, unending support, along with un-budgeable stability, offered a home that was a safe and sacred place. Her solid and sound advice was there through thick and thin. She had a continuous open-door policy and welcomed many into her home for a quick meal, a place to rest while travelling or just friends over for coffee.

She was a dedicated home-maker and was well known for her delicious meals whether they were taken out to the field feeding working men or in her home surrounded by family and friends. She happily shared her many talents with those around her through hand-made quilts, sweaters, baby blankets, and many more beautiful pieces of hand-work she created. She was always up for playing games, working on a puzzle and was an avid reader.

Helen was a devoted Christian and an active member of the Rosemary Mennonite Church. She was well-grounded and committed to God. She was a founding member of the Women's Christian Fellowship and served with that group for many years.

She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

She will be greatly missed.

Helen was predeceased by her parents - Heinrich and Elizabeth, her husband Alvin, 2 brothers Peter Retzlaff, Bernie Retzlaff and 1 sister Betty Nickel. She is survived by 4 children, Rudy (Lori) of Magrath, AB, Joyce (Chuck Roth) of Duchess AB, Irv (Wanda) of Rosemary, AB, and Steve (Jan) of Gem, AB as well as 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Henry (Erna) of Brooks, Jake of Calgary and John (Heidi) of Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosemary Mennonite Church. Pastor Joyce Roth officiating. Interment to follow at the Rosemary Cemetery. In memory of Helen, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice.
