Glenda Belle Wright of Brooks, loving wife of late Lynn Wright, passed away in Brooks on Tuesday Sept. 23rd at 7:30 AM at the age of 77yrs. Glenda was born on March 28th, 1948 in Lethbridge, AB to Ben and Kay Coombs. Glenda received her education in Brooks, graduating high school in 1966. She then continued on to Calgary, AB, where she completed her education as a Registered Nurse in 1969. Lynn Wright and Glenda Coombs were married on Oct. 18th,1969 in Brooks and resided in Calgary. Multiple moves would soon follow from Calgary to Lethbridge then on to Pincher Creek, Cavendish, Princess, Brooks, Slave Lake, Vegreville, Stettler, Milk River, Taber and then finally back to Brooks. She continued her work in health care throughout most of these locations. She eventually retired from nursing and completed her working career assisting the Brooks RCMP as a holding cell guard. Glenda had a deep love for animals. Horses and dogs certainly topped that list. Glenda accomplished so much in her life. In high school Glenda was crowned Brooks High School Rodeo Queen, which she deeply cherished and honored. Glenda loved her family and friends, she worked tirelessly to provide all that she could and to provide a safe, inviting and loving home. She was a care giver to all. She affected so many lives, often contributing to solving health issues that would stump other medical staff, this dedication would offer relief to so many. Through the seemingly endless shuffles and moves throughout her life she gained and maintained many amazing lifelong friendships. Glenda was known to be strong, honest and direct with regards to most things, but was also one of the most compassionate and caring women anyone would have the pleasure of knowing. Glenda was preceded by her beloved husband Lynn. She is survived by her cherished children: Darren, along with his children Jordan and Kobin; Brad, his wife Jenny, and their children Brooklyn and Hudson; and Kerry, her husband Billy, and their children Logan, Lukas, JJ, Makynli, and Jr. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Greg, Margo husband Kei, and Kathy husband Joe as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in her heart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10th at 10:30 AM from the Brooks United Church. Rev. David Bradford officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
