Geraldine Violet Griffith, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home at Newbrook Lodge on Aug 23, 2026, with family by her side and held by the faith that guided her throughout her life.

Geraldine grew up with her loving family of 9 siblings in the Hand Hills area.  She married her beloved husband, David Griffith, in September 1953, and together they built a life they loved, ranching in the Cessford area.  She found great joy in being a very active part of the community.

In 1986, Geraldine and Dave moved to Brooks, where they made even more cherished friends and neighbours.

Feisty, inspirational, generous and hardworking, she was always there when someone needed a helping hand. She treasured her family and friends and enjoyed coffee with her girls, her quilting group, card nights, cheering on her beloved Toronto Blue Jays, and an incredible 40 years as a KOPS member with TOPS.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff at Newbrook Lodge for the years of kindness, compassion, and loving attention they gave Geraldine, and to Brooks Home Care and Palliative Care for the gentle, compassionate support they provided. Our family will be forever grateful for the kindness and dignity you showed her as we walked through this journey.

Geraldine is lovingly remembered by her children Lance (Mary), Keith (Donna✞), Del✞(Lori), and Elsa (Kevin), along with her cherished 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by numerous family members including her beloved husband Dave (2002), son Del (2009), daughter-in-law Donna (2016), and great grandson Kenzo (2019).

Geraldine loved Jesus and found great comfort in Psalm 23. Her family celebrates knowing she was ready to go home to Him, trusting in the promise that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and the many friends whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, Aug 31 at 2:00 pm at Brooks Trinity Lutheran Church.
