Garry John Eide of Steveville, Alberta passed away at his home on Sunday March 29th , 2026 at the age of 68 years.  On August 12th, 1957, Garry was born to Marvel and Helen Eide at the original Brooks hospital.  He was the fifth of seven children.  Garry was raised on the family farm in the Imperial Colony area where he resided, until his passing.  He had a few jobs including working on the rigs, hauling fluids, cattle and drilling products all over Canada and the USA.  After his father's passing, Garry returned to the family ranch to assist his mother with the day-to-day operations.  Garry always looked forward to brandings and his annual 'Pig Roast' down at the ranch.  Known to many as 'Fatman' he could be seen riding on his Harley trike with his two 'kids' Billy the Kid and Milo.  They had many adventures riding the bike all over north America touching many lives in the process.  Garry loved to connect with people and made new friends wherever he went.  Always having a warm smile or a 'Hey Sweetie' and a big hug to go along with it.  He loved to go and play Santa during the holiday season, spreading joy to many families.  Community involvement was important to Garry including being part of annual 'Toy Runs' and giving a helping hand wherever he was needed.  Garry's need for speed didn't stop with motorcycles.  He was active in drag racing for many years in which he took home numerous trophies.  His generosity and kind heart will be missed.  Garry found his faith through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he not only gained lifelong friends but a family.  Throughout all his health complications he held his faith close to him and knew that he was in good hands.  Garry was predeceased by his parents Marvel and Helen Eide, brother-in-law and sister Heinz and Patsy Wenner, brother Wayne Eide, and sister Diane Elliot.  He is survived by three siblings, many nieces and nephews and his kids (dogs) Billy the Kid and Milo.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10th at 1:00 PM from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brooks.  Bishop Mike Harding officiating.
