Elizabeth Wright of Bassano, beloved wife of the late Bill Wright, passed away in Bassano on Tuesday, November 19 ^th , 2019 at the age of 86 years.  Liz was born on May 27 ^th , 1933 in Ruthilda, SK.  Liz married William (Bill) Wright on June 20 ^th , 1952 in the Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano and then resided in Bassano.  She was a farm wife, but later going to work at the Bassano Health Center cooking in the kitchen from 1974 to 1981.  After Bill passed, Liz moved into town, later moving to the Dr. Scott apartments and then into the Playfair Lodge.  In June, having problems walking, was in the Bassano Health Center awaiting a long-term care room.  Liz loved to go with her friends to bingo and golfing.  They had lots of fun and laughs in the many adventures.  She and sister Anne travelled to Las Vegas to do a little gambling a few times and had a great time.  Another hobby was crocheting, where she would make an afghan for a fund raiser raffle, or family member, friend or to put in craft sale.  Liz was a community minded person and volunteered as driver of the day and for meals on wheels.  She was also a member of the Community Drop in Center and Kinettes.  When it was her turn to bring snack to the Drop in, cinnamon buns were always requested by the members.  Also, Liz loved to sing and was in the Church choir and later the senior choir.  Everyone who encountered her loved how her smile lit up a room, and was so personable.  A genuine people person who gathered people around her.  Liz was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Wright on May 27 ^th , 1982 and son Terry Wright on June 5 ^th , 2012, and all of her brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her son Jim (Susan) and their children Darren (Tamara); April (Brad) children Ashton, Riley; Jason and Nicholas (Marissa); daughter Brenda (Mike) and their children Shaun (Nathalie) child Emily; Jeannette, children Mason, Olivia; Roxanne (Derrick), children Hunter and Dominic.  Loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They made her smile with a smile that lit up the room. One specialty she made for her family was waffles and a special secret white sauce.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25 ^th , 2019 at 1:00 PM from Knox Presbyterian Church. Rev. Peter Baek officiating. Interment at Bassano Cemetery.
