Elizabeth Wiebe passed away at the Brooks Health Centre on January 3, 2026, at the age of 100. Elizabeth was born in Milden, Saskatchewan on July 31, 1925, to Peter and Lizzie Krause. At the age of 5 her family moved to a farm north of Rosemary, where she attended Rosemary School until Grade 8. She later furthered her education at the Rosemary Bible School. She was raised in the Rosemary Mennonite Church, where she was baptized at the age of 17. Elizabeth worked as a babysitter/housekeeper for local families, until she married Jake Wiebe on September 23, 1944. They farmed east of Rosemary until 1984, when they sold the farm and moved into Brooks. While on the farm they were blessed with 6 children and opened their home to 8 foster children, Jake passed away in 1987. Elizabeth continued to be active with the Gideons and the Ladies Bible Study Group. Elizabeth lived independently, until September 2014, when she moved into Newbrook Lodge, where she loved living. In April 2025, Elizabeth moved into Orchard Manor where she resided until December 2025. Elizabeth was predeceased by husband: Jake; sons, Larry Wiebe and Gord Wiebe; daughters, Sherry Fenton and Darlene Wiebe; son-in-law Myron Porisky and grandson, Donald Wiebe. She is survived by daughters, Dianne Porisky and Brenda Leland (Gord); daughters-in-law, Vivian Wiebe and Marjorie Wiebe; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. In memory of Elizabeth, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Gideon International in Canada, Box 3619, Guelph, Ontario N1H 7A2. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 PM from the Rosemary Mennonite Church. Rev. Josh Mueller officiating. Interment will held at Rosemary Cemetery.
