Edgar James Hillier of Brooks, beloved husband of Jessica Hillier of Brooks, passed away at his home with his family at his side in Brooks, on Sunday, May 5 th , 2019 at the age of 76 years.  Edgar was born in Lamaline , Newfoundland and moved to Brooks, Alberta in 2002.  Edgar worked in the St. Lawrence Fluorspar Mine, and the Fortune Fish Plant.  He also worked offshore on the  fishing boats. Edgar was a huge sports fan, especially in hockey, and he always cheered for the Toronto Maple Leafs.  He also was a big fan of the Brooks Bandits.  He was well known for his sense of humor, always looking to bring a laugh to those around him.  This was especially true during his battle with cancer, as he remained positive the entire time.  Edgar was predeceased by his father James Hillier, his mother Mary Josephine Hillier, brothers Allan and Gordon Hillier, and sister Virginia O'Brien of Kitchener, ON.  Survived by his wife Jessica Hillier, children Jamie Hillier, George Hillier (Amy), Lillian Hillier, Claudia Hillier, and John Hillier.  Edgar had two Grandchildren, Cassandra and Cameron.  Prayer services will be held on Thursday, May 16 th at 6:00 PM from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Marino Infante officiating. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, May 17 th at 11:00 AM from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Marino Infante Celebrant.

Cremation is entrusted to Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematorium, Brooks .
