Douglas Allan Kasper (1952-2018) of Bassano, Alberta, passed away on Monday, November 26 ^th , 2018 at the age of 66 years. Douglas was an avid outdoorsman, who rejoined his Lord and Saviour amidst the blue skies and sunshine, while on the hunt for the elusive Bull Elk. Along with his love of hunting, he also had a passion for butchering and sausage making. Doug proudly provided his homemade sausage and deer jerky to family and friends as well as church potlucks, and gave out his "samples" at every opportunity. He took pride in a job done well, which could be seen in his work and attention to the smallest details. Doug's greatest love was for his wife and family. He made every effort to attend their extracurricular activities and in the event he was unable to be there in person, he would be sure to text for the update. Douglas was predeceased by his biological mother Anna at the age of 5, his sisters Patricia and Joyce, parents Ben and Annie (stepmom) and brother Ken. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Brenda Kasper; son Richard (Debbie) Kasper of Wetaskawin; daughters Amanda (Floyd) Barron of Bassano and Melinda (Ashley) Chaikowski of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan; as well as his 9 beloved grandchildren, Ted, Hannah, Dawson, Alonzo, Farren, Nikkolas, Kaine, Eva-Marie, and Zene. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1 ^st , 2018 at 2:00 PM from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Peter Baek officiating. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
