With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dixie Kay Alberts. Dixie passed away peacefully at the Brooks Health Centre on May 18, 2026, with her family by her side. Dixie was born on August 27, 1938, in Iron Springs, Alberta, to Roy and Mable Wright. She was the youngest of 15 siblings and grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit family. Dixie had a lifelong passion for fashion and always took pride in being beautifully dressed for every occasion. Over the years, she worked in several ladies' wear stores in Calgary and Brooks. Later, alongside her daughter Lynsey, she proudly co-owned and operated their bouquet Styles III, in Brooks. Family was at the center of Dixie's life. She found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were truly the love of her life. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the constant smile she shared with everyone around her. Dixie also leaves behind many lifelong friends who will cherish her memory. Dixie leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Dick Alberts; her children, Richard (Marlene) of Lethbridge, Rod (Carrie) of Brooks, Don (Maria) of Barrhead, and Lynsey (Henry) of Brooks; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. In memory of Dixie, if friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dixie's name may be made to a charity of one's choice. A Celebration of Life will be held in Brooks in the summer of 2026.
