Della Grace Connon (Thompson) passed away on Monday, July 12 ^th , 2021 in Bassano, Alberta at the age of 91 years. Born on August 2 ^nd , 1929, the ninth child of Ernie and Sadie Runham near Bowden, Alberta, she grew up on a farm west of Bowden until her marriage. She married Bill Connon on August 9 ^th , 1948. They were blessed with three children Catherine, Willetta and Gene. Della and the kids followed Bill throughout his Army career. After Bill's discharge from the Army and with a few stops, they settled in Calgary, Alberta. After semi-retiring in the Okanagan, Della and Bill moved back to Alberta to retire in Bassano. Della loved to bowl and won numerous trophies over the years. She also had a green thumb and loved to garden. Della was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Bill Connon; her second husband of 19 years, Bill Thompson and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her brother, Cliff Runham and her sister, Eileen Obenauer; her daughters, Cathy (Brian) and Willetta and son Gene (Judy); her grandchildren Crystal (Michael), Candy and Michael (Nicole); her 7 great-grandchildren and 1 very special great-great-grandchild, Grace. The family will be sharing a Family Service at Smith Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
