Clifford Treiber of Bassano, beloved husband of Ina Treiber, passed away surrounded by his family in Bassano on Sunday, June 11 ^th , 2017 at the age of 88 years. Cliff was born to Herb and Dena Treiber on November 28 ^th , 1928 in Olds, Alberta. In 1936 his family moved to Bassano, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. Cliff received the majority of schooling in Bassano and the went to work for the C.P.R. for one year, before joining the road crew that built the Number 1 Highway through Bassano. After that venture, Cliff went to work in the carpentry industry for Goodrich and Treiber. Cliff met Ina Deans in 1954, and they were married on April 10 ^th , 1956. They lived in Bassano until 1959, before moving to the Dean's family farm to work for Ina's dad, until Jim's retirement in 1973. Cliff continued to work for Art Klassen until 1977, when they built their home in Bassano. At that time Cliff went to work for Nick Petkau until 1983, and then worked for the EID, until his retirement in the fall of 1995. Cliff and Ina always enjoyed watching their grandchildren playing their different sports and never missed a school concert or event. Cliff was a very active member of the Bassano Evangelical Free Church for over 60 years. He is survived by his loving family, wife Ina of 61 years; son David of Cochrane; 2 daughters, Debbie Wood and Betty (Ken) Andrejcin all of Bassano; grandchildren, Yvonne (Jason) Hansen, Cody Treiber, Jonathon (Tanya) Petruk, Jeanine (Alex) Miklos, Daniel (Ginger) Wood, Whitney (Jason) Mandel, Calvin Andrejcin; great grandchildren, Avery, Piper, Meghan, Kacey, Jack, Kya, Kaylin, Makoy, Phoenix, Jessa, Kayson and Bennett; siblings, Verna Heryford of Bassano, Judy Gordichuk of Dawson Creek and Rick Treiber of Hussar. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16 ^th at 2:00 PM from the Bassano Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Don Philip officiating. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
