Chrystal Dawn
Rausch
Jan 5, 1980 — Jun 28, 2026
Medicine Hat
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chrystal Dawn Rausch, who passed away in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, at the age of 46 years. Chrystal was born on January 5th, 1980, in Beckley, West Virginia. She was someone who embraced life wholeheartedly. Chrystal found peace on the water with a fishing rod in her hands and could happily spend hours talking about fishing and planning her next trip. She had a love for all things "witchy" and found beauty and meaning in the world around her. Chrystal was a passionate writer who filled journals with her thoughts, dreams, and reflections, and she proudly accomplished one of her dreams by writing a book. Chrystal lived life with a free spirit, a compassionate heart, and a love that left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She adored tattoos, not only the artwork. but the memories made during girls' trips spent getting them together. She was known for her long, beautiful hair that people often complimented and for her confidence and infectious sense of humor. She would have smiled knowing she was remembered for always having "the biggest boobies in the room." It was part of her charm, she never took herself too seriously and made the people around her laugh. Chrystal's greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind. Her family and friends will remember her not only for the things she loved, but for the way she made people feel. seen, accepted, and loved. More than anything, she was a devoted mother. Her greatest pride and purpose were her children; Joshua, Mikayla, Shannon, and Logan; her many adopted children, Johnathon, Mellissa, Caitlyn, Jessica, Taya, Emily, Mackenzie. She was also a proud grandmother to Emery and Frankie, who brought endless joy and light into her life. Chrystal was predeceased by her beloved grandmother, Betty Jean, and her soul sister, Gisselle Caron. Though they are gone, there is comfort in imagining their reunion. In her memory, we hope everyone who reads this carries one message forward: hug the people you love. Tell them how much they mean to you. Cherish every laugh, every conversation, every ordinary moment, because life can change in the blink of an eye. One day, the memories you make today may become your most treasured possessions. A private family service will be held in Brooks at a later date. Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the years we shared with Chrystal. Her love, laughter, strength, and beautiful spirit will live on through her children, her grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched.
"Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts."
