Carleen Mabel Ann Cochran of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Roland Cochran, passed away peacefully in Brooks, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, January 17 th , 2018 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Oliver, British Columbia on February 9 th , 1945 to Leonard and Mabel Olson. Carleen married Ron Cochran on October 12 th , 1968 in Grand Forks, British Columbia. Carleen worked at various jobs around Brooks, the last being Home Hardware,before her retirement. She really enjoyed helping people as the "paint lady" as well as visiting with customers. She was quite active in her spare time, with many interests including calligraphy, crocheting, hairdressing, dancing and cross-stitching. Carleen was also a Brownie Leader, "Brown Owl" and a member of both the Order of the Royal Purple and Eastern Star. Her family will fondly remember her for her love of everything hummingbirds, her cross stitching projects and the hundreds of flowers she would plant each spring, with help from her friends. Carleen was predeceased by her loving husband Ron, sister Jane van de Werve and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Alva and her husband Alan; grandchildren, Abbey, Lachlan , Dryden and Declan Lee and numerous other family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 16 th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will take place in Grand Forks at a later date. In memory of Carleen, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Calgary Health Trust – In support of Vascular Care, 800, 11012 MacLeod Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta   T2J 6A5.

Cremation is entrusted to Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematorium, Brooks.
