Beverly Ann Finlay of Brooks, Alberta, beloved wife of the late Basil Finlay, passed away in Brooks on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, at the age of 86 years. Beverly was born in Belleville, Ontario on March 19th, 1938, to Walter Ciwko and Florence Sears. She married Basil Finlay in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1957. They resided in Winnipeg until 1962, when they moved to Stettler, Alberta. Beverly worked in the Healthcare field as a Healthcare Aide, work that allowed her to use her compassion and kindness to help others. Beverly moved to Brooks in 1998, following Basil's passing, to be closer to family. She enjoyed knitting, going out dancing and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Beverly will be fondly remembered for her caring nature, willingness to help her friends and family in any capacity, and the cooking she did for family events. No one ever left hungry after visiting with Beverly, she always had coffee, tea and treats at the ready. Even at the end of her life Beverly was letting people know that she recognized them, opening her eyes and smiling when she heard the voices of her children and grandchildren, whether they were at her bedside or on the phone. She was predeceased by her loving husband Basil Finlay, son Constable Patrick Finlay and brother John Ciwke. Beverly is survived by her children, Karen and Michael Finlay; grandchildren, Kostas, Shawn, Jamie, Amber, Brandi, Christopher and Melanie; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Talia, Metea, Nadia, Keirin, Trevor and Ryley; sister Barb Bertrand and numerous nieces and nephews. As per Beverly's wishes no public services will be held. A private family inurnment will take place in Stettler at a later date.  In memory of Beverly, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Alberta Children's Hospital, 28 Oki Drive NW, Calgary, Alberta   T3B 6A8.
