Angela Joyce was born in Beechy, Saskatchewan on August 17, 1954, to Jacob and Susie Schellenberg. In 1974, after completing her schooling in Kyle, she attended Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Saskatchewan where she met and fell in love with Alvin Plett. They were married on October 17, 1975 and moved to Gem where they raised their four daughters, Jennifer, Kelly, Kimberly, and Debbie.

Angela loved farm life. She was Alvin's complete partner in everything on the farm. She was active in helping with harvest, irrigating, working with livestock, and everything in between. She spent many hours mowing grass and working in her garden. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and using the food she grew to feed her family. Most of all, she loved living life with Alvin by her side and her grandkids in tow.

Angela accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at West Bank Bible Camp one summer. She took her commitment to Jesus seriously and showed it in everything she did. Angela was active in her church, serving with Alvin as Deacons for 12 years. She also played saxophone in the church band, sang in the choir, was the church janitor for 23 years, and organized and taught Sunday School, club, and VBS. She and Alvin served with the Gideons and delivered Bibles to many students, nurses, and hotel rooms. In 2019, they travelled to South Carolina to work with Mennonite Disaster Service, rebuilding homes after the storms there. They enjoyed doing that work together and hoped to do more trips like it in the future.

Angela had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed serving others. She was constantly baking treats to take to others and preparing for the next visit from family. It was her joy to give individual attention to family members and friends in the way they felt loved and appreciated. Her family was her pride and joy; she was always ready to welcome them home with fresh baking.

Angela made friends no matter where she went. When she was hospitalized following her cancer diagnosis at the end of April, she became friends with all the staff and enjoyed many bedside visits with them. The staff told many stories of how she touched their lives in such a unique way. Angela accepted her diagnosis with grace and dignity and allowed God to use her to encourage those around her. Her faith was very evident.

Angela is survived by her loving husband, Alvin; her daughters Jennifer (Steven) Driediger, Kelly (James) Klassen, Kim Hunt, and Debbie (Dylan) Paetkau; grandchildren Carathy, Caleb and Arinn Driediger; Katelyn, Jordan and Jackson Klassen; Allison and Elias Hunt; and Natalie and Carter Paetkau; honorary grandchild Jake Peters; siblings Gloria (Wes) Berg, Nancy Peters, and Wayne (Josie) Schellenberg and their families; mother-in-law Elfrieda Plett, as well as many other brothers- and sisters-in-law and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Susie Schellenberg, brother-in-law Ken Peters, and father-in-law Peter Plett.

Angela's family would like to thank all the staff at the Brooks Health Centre for their deep compassion, friendship, and love as they cared for her. She was so thankful for each and every one of you.
