Alice Paluszak was born December 8, 1924 to Paul and Mary Kareff of Canora, Saskatchewan. In her early years she worked as a nanny, housekeeper and later in the factories of Winnipeg on the assembly lines for propellers and sewing.

Alice married Sylvester Paluszak January 12,1961 and lived in the Sunnynook area where they raised three daughters, Mari-Lee, Nadine and Vione.

She was an avid gardener, (not just because she loved working in the soil, but also because this is what fed her family), this was not her only talent, she was also a remarkable cook, exceptional seamstress, artistic crafter, excellent teacher /instructor and her wide variety of interests included: fishing, fastball, dancing, curling, fossil collecting and canning.  Alice was naturally musically inclined and frequently played the guitar and accordion especially when the power went out.

Whenever possible she would be there to cheer on her daughters and then her grandchildren in any and all activities they were involved in, even helping coach the Roselynn ladies fastball club.  Alice was very community minded and along with Sylvester they were one of the main driving forces in getting the Homestead Coulee Hall built, she taught school children Ukrainian dancing and old time dancing, she was an inspiration to young married women on the necessary homesteading skills.

After Sylvester`s passing in 1994, Alice remained on the farm for two years and then moved into Brooks.  She continued her community support by volunteering at the food bank for many years and would bring in recipes on how to cook vegetables so the clients and no excuse not to take fresh produce to prepare for their families.  Due to declining health Alice lived with her youngest daughter and her husband for a short period of time before moving into the LTC in Hanna, where she remained until her passing.

Alice was predeceased by her mother Mary Kareff, father Paul Kareff, brother Mike Kareff, husband Sylvester and grandson Todd Chambers.

She is survived by her daughters/husbands: Mari-Lee Paluszak, Nadine/Daardi Almberg, Vione/Lowell Kading.  Grandchildren: Kyle/Nadine Almberg, Landon/Amelia Almberg, Adelle/Josh Copeland, Charmayne/Treveor Toole, Stacey/Logan Girletz, Great Grandchildren: Hayden Chambers, Cinniah and Gage Almberg, Easton Almberg and Lena Girletz, as well as her extended family and Jordan(Todd`s partner)
