Alexander Michael Worms of Brooks, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at the age of 40 years. Alex was born on January 4th, 1977 in Brooks, in the old hospital, and was schooled in Griffin Park School, Brooks Composite High School, then attended SAIT in Calgary, where he successfully completed a Diploma in Computer Technology. Alex stayed in Calgary and eventually started working for TELUS, where he stayed for some fifteen years working as a Safety Officer, Shop Steward and Resource Manager. Alex wanted to become a Field Technician and successfully completed a training course, transferring back, three weeks ago to Brooks, where he moved in with his beloved fiancée Tamara Van Horne. Alex's special interest were anything to do with computers including gaming, he also enjoyed sailing, skiing both cross country and downhill, and fine cooking. Alex is best remembered for his gentleness, indeed he was a typical gentle giant (6'4"), his kindness and patience teaching driving, cooking, and particularly computer skills to his technophobic parents. Alex is survived by his fiancée, Tamara Van Horne; his mother Penny and father Dr. Jean-Michel Worms; his sister Claire and brother-in-law Tomas Gendron and his niece Sophie, plus numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in England, France and Australia. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM at the EID Legion. Burial at Brooks Cemetery.
